Computation description:![]() | Count of Indigenous regular clients with type 2 diabetes whose blood pressure measurement result, recorded within the previous 6 months, was less than or equal to 130/80 mmHg. Presented as a number. Exclude type 1 diabetes, secondary diabetes, gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), previous GDM, impaired fasting glucose, impaired glucose tolerance. The client does not have a blood pressure measurement of less than or equal to 130/80 mmHg if either the systolic or diastolic reading is above the threshold (130 and 80 respectively). In the general population, blood pressure over 140/90 mmHg is considered high. The blood pressure target for those with type 2 diabetes is less than or equal to 130/80 mmHg as it is shown to significantly decrease macrovascular (stroke, heart attack and heart failure) and microvascular (kidney disease, eye disease and peripheral neuropathy) complications. If the client has had more than one blood pressure measurement within the previous 6 months, only the most recently recorded result is included in this calculation. |
