CODE 1   Colonoscopy

A colonoscopy is a procedure to visually examine the bowel using a special scope (colonoscope), usually carried out in a hospital or day clinic.

CODE 2   Computerised Tomography (CT) colonography

Computerised Tomography (CT) colonography is a procedure which uses CT scanning images to examine the bowel. A CT scan takes a series of x-rays, which builds up a three-dimensional picture of the bowel.

Other bowel cancer diagnostic assessment types may be added in the future.
