CODE 2     Departed under own care

This code includes patients who departed under their own care, under the care of a residential aged care facility or other carer. Code 2 excludes those who died in the emergency department, which should be coded to Code 6.

CODE 10   Departed in police care

This code is only used at the Royal Hobart Hospital.

CODE 102     Admitted LGH

This code is only used at the Launceston General Hospital.

CODE 99    Other

This code is not recommended to be use.

A service episode ends when either the patient is admitted or, if the patient is not to be admitted, when the patient is recorded as ready to leave the emergency department or when they are recorded as having left at their own risk.

Episode end status should be recorded when Episode end date and Episode end time are recorded.
