Scope:	The Carer household authorisation file cluster contains information about all carer households who were authorised to provide funded home–based out-of-home-care placements at any point during the reference period. Authorisation means the carer household has received the required approval to have a child placed with them. This includes carer households authorised to provide: Foster care (including provisionally approved carers) Relative/kinship care (including provisionally approved carers) Respite Long-term guardianship.

Collection and usage attributes
Guide for use:	Residential care and family group homes are not included in the scope of carers in the Carer household authorisation file.
Collection methods:	Each change in Carer household authorisation/registration status will be a new line in the file, delineated by an authorisation start and end date. Renewal of an existing authorisation as part of a standard ongoing review process or a change from provisional to full authorisation are not deemed to be a change in authorisation status and should not be recorded on a new line. The original authorisation start date should be retained.
