Comments:![]() | The Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody recommended that corrective services, in conjunction with Aboriginal health services and other such bodies where appropriate, should review and report upon the provision of health services to Indigenous prisoners in correctional institutions. It was recommended that this review should include, among other things, the involvement of Aboriginal health services in the provision of general and mental health care to Aboriginal prisoners. This may be achieved in several ways, including visits by Aboriginal health services, and having Aboriginal health workers as members of the clinic staff (AIHW 2015). |
