Scope:	The scope of the Allied Health Non-Individual Patient Attributable (NIPA) and Clinical Support Activity (CSA) National Best Practice Data Set (AHNIPA&CSA NBPDS) is to collect daily allied health activity data that is not able to be attributed to a single patient or is an activity that is not related to the delivery of clinical care. Included in this data set is the allied health service provider’s activity that is non-individual patient attributable or not related to the delivery of clinical care. This includes: Non-individual patient attributable activity Clinical support activity: Clinical services management Teaching and training Research Any activities which may be attributed to an individual patient are excluded from this data set. For example, delivery of a small group programme where it is deemed that time can be allocated to individual patients.

Guide for use:	The AHNIPA &CS NBPDS helps guide the standardisation of allied health data. This data set defines the amount of time spent per day by each allied health service provider on NIPA and CSA. The following glossary items are used within this data set: Allied health service provider Non-Individual Patient Attributable (NIPA) Activities Clinical Support Activities (CSA): Clinical Services Management (CSM) Teaching and Training (TT) Research (R)
Collection methods:	Data can be collected by each jurisdiction though patient administration and other allied health clinical and activity reporting systems where applicable. Jurisdictions are responsible for the collation of data at regular intervals to inform service provision. It is anticipated that the AHNIPA&CSA NBPDS guides the standardisation of allied health data with the future intention of developing a national minimum data set or inclusion within other national minimum data sets.
