| Guide for use: | Each separately administered health care establishment is to have a unique identifier at the national level. Concatenation of: Australian state/territory identifier (character position 1); Sector (character position 2); Region identifier (character positions 3-4); and Organisation identifier (state/territory) (character positions 5-9), or Specialised mental health service organisation - organisation identifier (character positions 5-9). Specialised mental health service organisation identifiers should be prefaced with a 0. Where services are provided by non-government organisations contracted through a jurisdictional health department, the identifier should be reported as the state/territory identifier for the jurisdictional health department, and blank filled with the character 7 (e.g. 477777777 SA Health department, contracting non-government organisation services). |
