Guide for use: | CODE 1 Unreliable information This code should be used where it is known that the name recorded is a fictitious or partial name. These names should not be used for matching provider data. Temporary names are also unreliable information. These names can be used when the name of the person has not been determined; for example, where the provider has been given a surrogate name in emergency situations where the person’s name could not be obtained. This flag may be used in circumstances where the person’s name has not yet been registered with the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages. CODE 2 Name not to be used This code indicates that this name should not be used when referring to this provider. The name is retained for identification purposes only. The flag can be removed at a later date at the discretion of the system user. For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, certain tribal names may be recorded as 'name not to be used' as a result of death. CODE 3 Special privacy/security requirements This code may apply to names for which episodes are attached that should only be accessible to specified authorised persons. There must be a specific need to implement this additional security level. Local policy should provide guidance to the use of this code. CODE 4 Reliable names for search This code indicates that a name is generated for searching or computer use and should not be used other than to support searching. This includes common misspellings, computer generated names, and so forth. |
