Most recent data available for 2010 CRC baseline report: 2007 (calendar year data).

This indicator is calculated using data from the AIHW National Perinatal Data Collection (NPDC).

For data by socioeconomic status: calculated by AIHW using the ABS’ Index of Relative Socioeconomic Disadvantage and ERP by Statistical Local Area (SLA) as at 30 June 2007. Each SLA in Australia is ranked and divided into quintiles in a population-based manner, such that each quintile has approximately 20% of the 'women who gave birth' population.

For data by remoteness area: NPDC data, by remoteness areas, as specified in the Australian Standard Geographical Classification (ASGC).
