|Guide for use:|
This DSS is a component of the Prisoner health DSS. The Prisoner health DSS describes data about public and private prisons operating in Australia. It includes data on prison entrants, prisoners who visit a prison clinic or take repeat medication while in custody, prison clinic services and prison clinic staffing levels.
In this DSS, a 'visit' is defined as a face-to-face consultation for which an entry is made in the health service record (other than for routine household-type treatments such as band-aids or paracetemol).
Information on clinic visits is provided by the treating health professional at the clinic using the Prisoners in Custody—Clinic Visits form. One form is to be completed for each clinic contact.
