Scope:![]() | Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander standalone drug and alcohol services offer temporary, live-in accommodation for clients requiring substance use treatment and rehabilitation. Sobering-up clients stay in residential care overnight to sober up and do not receive formal rehabilitation. Residential respite/short-term clients spend 1 to 7 days in residential care for respite, and do not receive formal rehabilitation. The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander standalone substance use services sobering-up/residential respite/short-term care episodes of care cluster describes the number of episodes of sobering-up/residential respite/short-term care episodes of care provided by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander standalone substance use services. The four data elements are used together to provide a count of sobering-up/residential respite/short-term care episodes of care by the Indigenous status, age ranges and sex of clients. Collection methods:![]() | If figures are not available for the full year, an estimate can be made based on a representative part of the year. The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander standalone substance use service is required to provide numbers of male, female and total episodes of care for sobering-up/residential respite/short-term care by Indigenous status and age group (0–18, 19–35 and 36 years and over), as detailed in the Scope, Episodes of care for sobering-up/residential respite/short-term care table. The total Indigenous and non-Indigenous episodes of care may include unknown or not reported sex. Total sex may include unknown or not reported Indigenous status. |
