Most recent data available for 2011 CRC report is 2008.

At this stage, data are available for NSW, Queensland, WA, SA, Tasmania, NT and ACT. There are inconsistencies in the gathering of information about smoking during pregnancy across jurisdictions.

Rates are directly age standardised to the Australian female population who gave birth in the current reporting period (i.e. 2008 for reporting of 2008 data).

Maternal age is the age at the time of giving birth.

Baseline year for this indicator is 2008; target year is 2018.
