Collection and usage attributes
The probability of surviving 5 years in people with cancer is divided by the probability of surviving 5 years in the general population (matched on age, sex and calendar year).
Analysis will be undertaken using the ‘period’ method of calculation. See Cancer survival and prevalence in Australia: period estimates from 1982 to 2010.
Analyses by state and territory, remoteness and Socio-Economic Indexes for Areas (SEIFA) Index of Relative Socio-Economic Disadvantage (IRSD) are based on usual residence of the person at diagnosis.
