CODE 1   Low grade dysplasia

A growth in which cells which are very similar to cancer cells grow in an organ but which have a low chance of invading into tissue or metastasise.

CODE 2   High grade dysplasia/in situ

A growth in which cells which are very similar to cancer cells grow in an organ but which have a high chance of invading into tissue or metastasise.

CODE 3   Suspicious for invasion

A growth that may have the ability to invade into tissue or metastasise.

CODE 4   Invasive carcinoma

A growth that has the ability to invade into tissue or metastasise.

CODE 9   No dysplasia

A growth in which cells are not similar to cancer cells and are unable to invade other tissue or metastasise.
