CODE 1   Admitted patient - specialised mental health care unit

Patient is admitted to a specialised mental health service that provides overnight care in a psychiatric hospital or a specialised mental health unit in an acute hospital.

 

CODE 2 Admitted patient - other

Patient is admitted to a hospital service outside a designated psychiatric unit.

 

CODE 3 Community patient - specialised mental health care unit

Patient is in a specialised mental health service that provides mental health care within a community setting and is not admitted to an inpatient facility.

 

CODE 4 Residential patient - specialised mental health care unit

Patient is in a specialised mental health service that provides overnight care within a domestic-like environment. Residential mental health services may include rehabilitation, treatment or extended care.

 

CODE 5 Emergency department patient

Patient is in a hospital emergency department or emergency service.

 

CODE 6 Community patient - other

Patient is in a community care service that provides care in either the community and/or hospital-based ambulatory care setting outside of a specialised mental health service. These services may include hospital outpatient clinics.
