Guide for use: | CODE Y Participating public hospital A public hospital that participates in the Pharmaceutical Reform Arrangements between the Commonwealth and the relevant state/territory to supply medicines, subsidised under the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), to patients on discharge, outpatients receiving treatment at the hospital and day admitted patients. CODE B Non-participating public hospital A public hospital that does not participate in the Pharmaceutical Reform Arrangements and is therefore only approved for the purpose of supplying Highly Specialised Drugs (HSDs) to hospital patients. CODE 0 Approved community pharmacy A pharmacist that is approved to supply PBS medicines, at pharmacy premises, to the public under section 90 of the National Health Act 1953 (Cwth). CODE D Dispensing doctor A general practitioner who is approved to supply PBS medicines to the public under section 92 of the National Health Act 1953 (Cwth), where there is no pharmacist approved to do so in that particular area. CODE F Approved community pharmacy (flagged as a friendly society) A pharmacist that is approved to supply PBS medicines, at pharmacy premises, to the public under section 90 of the National Health Act 1953 (Cwth), which has been flagged as a friendly society. CODE H Private hospital A private hospital authority that is approved to supply PBS medicines to its hospital patients, under section 94 of the National Health Act 1953 (Cwth). |
