Registration authorities

Registration authorities are responsible for endorsing each sector’s data standards. The registration authorities review recommendations made by the data or information committees, and provide formal approval for assigning the ‘Standard’ status to the item.

Metadata are developed within METEOR by Registration Authorities (RAs). Development is informed by subject matter experts who are members of expert advisory groups and/or formal data and information committees. Final endorsement is delivered by the nominated endorsing body for the RA. The AIHW provides metadata expert advice and support throughout these processes.
