Comments: | In some States and Territories, juveniles are transferred between the adult and the juvenile justice system. This data element is to capture some information on that movement (in conjunction with Service episode—Service cessation reason, juvenile justice code N[N]). In addition, this data element will assist in identifying juveniles who are transferred from another jurisdiction's juvenile justice system and those that have been transferred from one detention or remand centre to another (with no change in legal status) within a jurisdiction. While there may be no change in the actual legal status of the juvenile justice client, there may be a change in the jurisdiction in which they are being held, or responsibility for them may be shifted from the adult system to the juvenile system. These changes trigger the end of an episode. |
