Guide for use: | CODE 1 Vertex Presentation at birth is the upper back part of the fetal head. That is, the occiput is the point of reference. CODE 2 Breech Presentation at birth is the buttocks or legs. Includes breech with extended legs, breech with flexed legs, footling and knee presentations. CODE 3 Face Presentation at birth is the face. That is, the fetal head is hyper-extended and the area of the head below the root of the nose and the orbital ridge is at the cervical os. CODE 4 Brow Presentation at birth is the brow. That is, the fetal head is partly extended and the area of the head between the anterior fontanelle and the root of the nose is at the cervical os. CODE 8 Other Includes compound presentations (where an extremity prolapses simultaneously alongside the presenting part) and all other malpresentations, for example, cord, shoulder or hand. |
