Guide for use:![]() | External cause codes V00 to Y34 must be accompanied by an activity code U50-U73. As per classification instructions, when multiple activity codes apply to a single injury event the code appearing highest in the ICD-10-AM Tabular List is used. For example, an injury sustained during sport that is undertaken during school or as part of paid work should be assigned the activity code for sport (U50–U71).
Comments:![]() | Enables categorisation of injury, poisoning, and other adverse effect, according to factors important for injury control. Necessary for defining and monitoring injury control targets, injury costing and identifying cases for in-depth research. This term is the basis for identifying work-related and sport-related injuries.
