In the absence of nationally consistent code sets or values for recording indicators for interventions ‘free text’ is to be used.

Indicators for allied health intervention may be recorded for all allied health service events performed by an allied health service provider within the professions identified in Allied health service event—provider profession, code AA[AAA]

There may be some professions that do not record indicator for allied health intervention.

Each allied health service event may record one or more reasons for intervention, up to a maximum of 99.

Collection methods:Help on this term

Each jurisdiction should implement a locally agreed code set for collection of the data element.  This may be borrowed or adapted from another jurisdiction.

Indicator for allied health intervention terms may be profession specific or shared amongst a number of professions. An allied health service provider may use a profession specific code set for this data element.

Comments:Help on this term

Subsequent analysis of locally agreed values will contribute to developing national standardised values in the future.
