An allied health service event is performed by an allied health professional, allied health assistant or allied health student. An allied health service event must:
• be attributable to an individual patient with a known patient identifier
• contain therapeutic/clinical content, have an individual patient attributable duration against the encounter and result in a dated entry in the person’s medical record. An allied health service event may be an individual or a group encounter. A person may or may not be in physical attendance for an allied health service event. An allied health service event typically occurs within the boundary of a single day, but may occur over 2 days. For example, a social worker performing an on-call, overnight shift, from 10:30pm until 4:00am. Within each episode of care, a person may have one or more allied health service events. There may be one or more allied health service events provided by the same allied health service provider on the same or following day. |
