Androgen hormones stimulate the growth of prostate cancer cells, and so the reduction of androgen hormones aims to reduce the spread of prostate cancer. This includes both chemical treatments, such as Luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone agonists and antagonists, and surgical treatment, such as an orchiectomy. |
