Indicator (b) is unchanged from indicator (b) in the previous NDA. No new data are available for this cycle of reporting.

SDAC 2009 for all data except Indigenous; NATSISS 2008 for Indigenous data.

Reporting issues are the same as listed in performance indicator (a).

2009 SDAC does not provide this data for the Indigenous population; therefore Indigenous data needs to be taken from a different source (e.g. NATSISS 2008).

The NATSISS uses an abbreviated form of the Disability Module, which is less detailed than the SDAC.

Social and community activities as defined in the NATSISS are more culturally appropriate for Indigenous Australians than those in the SDAC.

SDAC does not collect information on the main reason for not leaving home as often as would like for persons in cared acommodation. Data are available for private dwelling and non-cared accommodation special dwellings only.
