Collection and usage attributes | |
Guide for use:![]() | CODE 1 Grandparent The carer is the biological/step/adoptive grandparent (i.e. the parent of either of the child's parents) of the child placed in their care. This includes Indigenous kinship placements with grandparents. CODE 2 Aunt or uncle The carer is the biological/step/adoptive aunt or uncle (i.e. the sister or brother of either of the child's parents) of the child placed in their care. This includes Indigenous kinship placements with aunts/uncles. Relatives beyond first aunt/uncle are excluded. CODE 3 Sibling The carer is the biological/step/adoptive sibling (i.e. sister or brother) of the child placed in their care. This includes Indigenous kinship placements with siblings. CODE 4 Other relative The carer is a biological/step/adoptive relative (excluding grandparent, aunt or uncle, or sibling) of the child placed in their care. This includes Indigenous kinship placements with other relatives. CODE 5 Non-familial relationship The carer has a pre-existing relationship with, but is not a biological/step/adoptive relative of, the child under their care. This includes Indigenous kinship placements with carers who have a non-familial relationship to the child under their care. CODE 6 Other Indigenous kinship relationship The carer is the Indigenous kin of the child under their care (i.e. is a member of an Indigenous community who is accepted by that community as being related to the child). Code 6 excludes Indigenous kinship placements with grandparents, aunts/uncles, siblings, other relatives and carers with a non-familial relationship to the child. These are reported under the above categories. CODE 88 Other Includes other relative/kinship relationships that do not fit into the above categories. CODE 97 Not applicable Should be recorded for non-relative and non-kin carers. CODE 99 Not stated/inadequately described Where the specific relationship of the relative/kin carer is unknown. |
