Guide for use:![]() | This data element allows a calculation of the length of time a person has experienced homelessness. A permanent place to live is defined as a conventional dwelling, typically with its own residential address. It refers to a person's usual residence that lasts for at least 3 months. The characteristics of the accommodation must be such, that it is considered outside the scope of the definition of homelessness. Ascertaining that a person did at some time have a permanent place to live indicates that their experience of homelessness commenced subsequently. Thus the length of the period of homelessness is measured from that time. |
