The following information is only applicable to indicators.
A statistical measure used to describe the progress or performance of the health or welfare system. This may be linked to a population or a number related to the provision of goods and services-output.
Mandatory completion.
An indicator name is composed of the following:
Agreement name +colon+ +space+ Year agreement was last updated +comma+ +space+ Indicator reference number +hyphen+ Formal Indicator name +comma+ +space+ Year indicator was last updated.
For example an indicator may be named National Health Agreement: 2011, P1-Proportion of low birth weight babies, 2010.
An indicator technical name is composed of the following:
Capital letter should only be used for each first letter of the Indicator set name, the ‘P’ or ‘O’ denoting the indicator number, and the first letter of the formal indicator name.
Commas should only be used to separate the year the indicator set was last updated from the Indicator reference number; and the Indicator name from the year the indicator was last updated.
A hyphen should only be used to separate the Indicator reference number and the indicator name.
A colon should only be used to separate Indicator set name and the year the indicator set was last updated.
Full stops are not permitted unless they are a part of the formal Indicator set name or the formal indicator name as specified by the responsible auspice body.
Emdashes are not permitted unless they are a part of the formal Indicator set name or the formal indicator name as specified by the responsible auspice body.
Parentheses are not permitted unless they are a part of the formal Indicator set name or the formal indicator name as specified by the responsible auspice body.
Square and curly brackets (braces) are not permitted unless they are a part of the formal Indicator set name or the formal indicator name as specified by the responsible auspice body.
The indicator set shall occupy the leftmost position of an indicator name.
The year the indicator set was last updated shall follow the indicator set. These components should be separated by a colon and a space.
The year the indicator set was last updated shall be followed by a comma and a space, followed by the indicator reference number.
The indicator reference number shall be followed by an emdash and the complete and formal name of the Indicator as specified by the responsible auspice body.
The indicator name shall be followed by a comma and a space.
The year the Indicator was last updated shall occupy the rightmost position of the Indicator technical name.
