Registration status is the value assigned to a metadata item as it progresses through the registration process.
National registration status
A national registration status is assigned by the relevant national registration authority. This authority endorses metadata items up to the level of Standard. The statuses outlined below for National registration status are consistent with the statuses described in ISO 11179 standards for metadata registries.
The National registration statuses in METeOR are:
Proposed - A developer has submitted this item for consideration by the registrar.
Recorded - The registrar has determined that the item meets basic quality criteria and is ready for consideration by the relevant data committee.
Candidate - The item has been reviewed by a data committee and has been accepted onto their work program.
Standardisation pending - A data committee has recommended the item to a Registration authority for approval as a Standard.
Standard - The item has been endorsed by a Registration authority as a national data standard.
Superseded - A registration authority has superseded this item with another standard.
Retired - The item has been nominated by a Registration authority as retired.
Not progressed - The item will no longer be considered by the registrar, a data committee or a Registration authority.
A metadata item without an assigned registration status is Undefined.
Non -national registration status
A non-national registration status is assigned by the relevant non-national authority. This authority endorses metadata items up to the level of Endorsed. These registration statuses are not consistent with those described in ISO 11179 standards for metadata registries.
The Non-national registration statuses in METeOR are:
Draft - A developer has submitted this item for consideration by the registrar.
Final - The item has been reviewed by the registrar and has been accepted as a potential item for endorsement in that authority.
Endorsed - The item has been endorsed by the Non-national registration authority.
Archived - The item has been nominated by a Registration authority as archived.
A metadata item without an assigned registration status is Undefined.
Metadata search
When searching for metadata, you can restrict the search to a specific registration status by clicking the checkbox(es) to the left of the desired registration status.
If you do not want to restrict your search to a particular registration status, select Any.
The default selection is Standard and or Endorsed.
