The Australian Bureau of Statistics has suggested that a maximum field length of 50 characters should be sufficient to record the vast majority of locality names.
This metadata item may be used to describe the location of person, organisation or event. It can be a component of a street or postal address.
Collection methods:
Enter 'Unknown' when the locality name or geographic area for a person or event is not known. Enter 'No fixed address' when a person has no fixed address or is homeless.
